Snow, Snow, and More Snow - No Problem!
Can there really be too much of a good thing? Well, in my mind, there certainly can be. Although the owners of Maine's ski resorts might disagree, I think I speak for most of the people of Maine (and New England, and the mid-Atlantic states, and the Midwest) when I say, "Enough already!," not another blasted snowstorm!
One of my New Year's resolutions was to get more exercise, but I was thinking of maybe about ten sit-ups a day would about do it. Instead, I've been building Schwarznegger-like biceps from shoveling. Cardio? Walking our dog Banjo at Penny Lake through knee-deep drifts twice a day takes care of that. Not to mention the flexibility workout I'm getting slipping and sliding on icy paths. Although, I'm making a lot of progress with my fitness regime, last night when I was watching Steve Austin's Broken Skull Ranch on TV, Karine still told me "No way." A fella can dream though, can't he?
It could be a lot worse, however. I want to give a heartfelt thank you to the Boothbay Harbor road crews who work night and day to keep the streets passable. Even in the heaviest snows, I've still been able to get wherever I needed to go any time I wanted. I can extend that throughout Lincoln County and the rest of Maine as well. Great job, ladies and gentlemen!
Thanks as well to all the guests who have braved the elements to visit us during these snowy days. We love having you, its really nice to have someone new to talk to - no cabin fever here!
Oh well, Banjo's looking at me with those sorrowful eyes again. Time to get on the boots and trek out. Guess what, it's snowing!
