The Perfect Three Day Holiday!
We're always being asked, "We're really just stopping over in Boothbay Harbor on our way to Acadia for a week this summer. Why would we want to spend more than one night at Bayberry House?" Well, let me tell you there is so much to do in Boothbay Harbor that you should really consider splitting your time between Boothbay and Bar Harbor. That way, you get the best of both places!
Here is a sample three day itinerary in and around Boothbay Harbor:
Day 1
Arrive at Bayberry House
Leave your car parked and explore the unique shops in town
Dinner at the Boathouse Bistro, watch the sunset from the upper deck
Day 2
Breakfast at Bayberry House
Spend the morning among the beautiful flowers at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens
Lunch at the Gardens or at the Watershed Tavern and Brewery
Travel to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse for the afternoon
Dinner outside by the water at the Whale's Tale back in Boothbay Harbor
Day 3
Breakfast at Bayberry House
Either a half day or whole day on the water - Whale Watching, Puffin Cruise, Monhegan Island, Harbor Cruise, etc.
A delicious lobster roll at Shannon's Unshelled for lunch.
If you have time left, take a walk through one of the beautiful land trust areas - Porter Preserve, Oven's Mouth, Lobster Cove, etc.
Dinner at Ports of Italy
Don't forget to save room for a stop by the Downeast Ice Cream Factory
Day 4
Breakfast at Bayberry House and checkout.
Drive to Bar Harbor (Regretting you hadn't stayed longer in Boothbay Harbor!)
